Hi everyone

I remember roughly 10 years ago going to SoHo, and there was a sex cinema on one of the side streets. It was for me a major turn on, to sit in a room with horney men and woman, does this still exist anywhere in London?
And what about strip clubs is one allowed to masturbate in them when paying for a VIP dance (obviously not being exposed)?

Interesting question about the stripe clubs!! I have heard stories and had one such Experience where I had oral at such an establishment … but not sure about masterbating! I am
Sure guys cum in their pants all too often

Pre Covid I recall seeing a sign for a peepshow near "sex alley" in Soho but it has since shut.

The peep shows were never really set up for masturbating. Going back 20 years as a young man, I once attempted it in a prep show but the performer started to realise what I was doing and furiously signalled for me to stop 😂 (which I did). I do wish we had some of the seediness back in Soho!

It was probably next to the Paul Raymond club. I know the alley.  :D

I lived in Soho in the early seventies. Working in a pub. For a young lad it was an eye opener and I loved it.
I think there was an adult cinema in the city too near Old Street if memory serves me well. Didn’t it catch fire ?

There was a strip club too. Either Dean st or Wardour st ( can’t  remember ) a mate of mine knew someone who knew someone and we got free entry. Last time I was down that way it was a lap dancing/hostess type of place.
Good old days if you know your way around. A bloody rip off if you were an innocent.

Soho, Chinatown, Islington, Clerkenwell, (and Manchester) - used to be 8 that I know off and enjoyed but long time ago.

All gone now though and Birmingham/Huddersfield are the ones left that I know of.
Would like to hear about any not on my radar!

Soho is full of fashionable cafes, bars , restaurants and designer shops. It's moving away from seedy / rip off establishments and I'm all for it. I remember getting scammed with a friend at a clip joint when I did not know any better (we ran for it when we were shown to the atm).

Even though you may like some voyeurism but I think you should move with the times. There is no way that type of cinema survives with the amount of porn online.

Wow. What memories.
My first 'stumbled on by chance' was at the Fantasy Chapter 2 in 1990. City Road between Old St and Angel. A couple came in and sat a few rows in front of me. Then a guy from the audience moved to the seat behind her and started fondling her boobs. That was enough to get me off!
Had a few more there, as I was popping in on evenings to catch these on the off chance. These must still be going on but not in Soho, as I see videos on the porn channels. Search 'cinema dogging'.
Later I discovered that a couple came in every Monday evening to the Sunset Cinema in Brewer St. Soho. That was just before 2012. Someone must have tipped off the council because the place got closed down.
Another was a cinema in the alleyway on which the Raymond Revue Bar was on. There I found a WS letting guys have a grope and giving out her phone number for business.
On the negative side, you also got cross-dressers. You may not know until you put your hand inside the bra !!!

Several years ago there were several sex cinemas but I think most closed ages ago. I used to live in Haringey and almost around the corner was a long-established Curzon Cinema which showed sex films from about 1980 until it closed in 1989 (and yes I was a customer). It became a Quasar Centre, became a cinema again and now it's a church. I guess similar things happened with most sex cinemas.

They would survive quite easily if they were not part of the Great British Clean up, like Soho. Fantasy was closed either by the council or landlords getting more money for something else, they tried to re open elsewhere twice, managed it only to be hounded out, it was not income that shut it down.

It was as seedy as fuck and probably broke all the rules of the license, but walking past you would never know.

Sex Cinema to Church is, IMHO, definitely not a sign of progress !
