On the weekend I spotted a mate in soho coffee shop after I came from a punt.. Has anyone been caught coming out of a walkup or brass house?

No thankfully. I've had to make a few stories up when getting spotted at the train station or in the exact same carriage as someone I know but not close to the action as such.

Do you actually know if they saw you come out the place or just nearby?

Nope - but a close friend inadvertently outed himself to me on a punting forum by posting an info request stating where he was going to be and why !!!!

I was planning to punt too but his post killed all thoughts of that - and yes he duly vanished that evening "to take an earlier train as he was tired"

I came out of WG,s house one evening a couple of years ago and walked straight into my stepson. I told him I had just dropped some work off there which was plausible as he has been out with me at work when I have had to drop letters off. Funnily enough I didn't think to ask him what he was doing there and wonder now if was actually the next punter in line. He has never mentioned it again so I think I got away with it.

Yeah, sure saw a guy from work flaking around some street workers Brick Lane E1 after a work's do; he was horrified & beside himself but I wasn't in the least bit bothered, he hounded me for days to be sure I'd keep quiet; why would anyone [with a life] do anything else?. Using WGs is way more reliable & better value than relationships (ok, maybe that's me).

I, too, am single; but am nervous about being seen so I almost always punt in towns at least 10 miles away from home.

I'm lucky that within an hour's drive, I have plenty of choice along the M61/M62 corridor. I feel sorry for blokes on here who live in really quite big towns/cities - I had to be in Belfast a couple of months ago - where the choice is more limited.
