I'm sorry to say this, but do you actually know what you're talking about? A test for HIV is worthless unless it's followed up with another test 3 months later. Being tested on the day and being clear of infection is complete nonsense - it only means you were clear 3 months ago.

I fear some people don't understand risk. A negative test is not "worthless". A girl who tested negative yesterday has far less chance of being positive today than a girl who has never been tested.

It's true that you can get false negatives with HIV (and any other disease), but a negative test is still reassuring as you also get plenty of true positives. A girl would have to be HIV positive in the first place (fairly unlikely) and have a false negative (even more unlikely).

I don't bareback prossies, but if I had the choice I posed earlier it would be a very easy decision. That's because the tests are not worthless.

I wouldn't say it's the incubation period. Scarily you can get HIV, have the antibodies and be symptomatic within two weeks. From what I understand 3 months is the point where more than 99% of the population will have detectable antibodies, in rare cases some people won't until 6 months. So if at 3 months you test negative it's highly unlikely that you have it & that seems to be why they suggest 3 months. If you think you've been exposed to HIV & are unfortunate enough to have caught it, you'll probably know much earlier than that.

This has inspired me to go and get tested again in 3 months as to be honest I'd have left it for another 6+ months but reading up on it and even though I haven't done bareback am I little bit concerned now lol.
